About

The teachers at Ricarda-Huch-Schule are noticing that mental stress among students has increased during the last years. More and more students have difficulties focusing, which is, for example, caused by difficult family situations or family backgrounds (e.g. ethnic background, migration), media consumption and an increasing lack of self-organisation. Further, there are more and more cases of behavioral disorder among the students (e.g. anorexia, bulimia, nervous breakdowns, anthropophobia). These mental health problems have negative effects on the students´ performance at school and on their well-being in general.

In this project we want to raise our students´ awareness of stress and develop strategies to avoid stress or cope with mental stress, thereby giving them a key competence for a successful school and working life. For instance, we would like to enhance the students´ interpersonal and self-organisation skills and to encourage them to try out and practise different relaxation methods.

The whole project should be funded as it enables students to learn about different strategies to deal with stress.
